From Seoul to IBS

This section provides some brief summaries on traveling to IBS, Daejeon from Incheon International Airport (ICN).
You can find more detailed descriptions in IBS website.


When you take a taxi, you can show the Korean address to the taxi driver.

Option A. Airport Limousine bus to Daejeon ⇒ IBS

  1. Take a limousine bus to "Daejeon Government Complex (Daejeon Chongsa)" (~26,000 KRW, T1: 1F exit No. 11, T2: B1 bus stop No. 5).
    * Bus stop locations: figures at the end of the section.
    * You can buy a ticket at a vending machine around the bus stop.
  2. Take a taxi and tell the driver you are heading to IBS (~7,000 KRW).
    * Taxi calling app: Kakao T (iOS / Android).
    * Even without the app, you may find taxies waiting at the bus station.

Option B. Airport Limousine bus to Seoul Station ⇒ KTX Train to Daejeon ⇒ IBS

  1. Take either of the following buses to "Seoul Station."
    - Bus 6001 (17,000 KRW, T1: 1F exit No. 5, T2: B1 bus stop No. 29).
    - Bus 6702 (18,000 KRW, T1: 1F exit No. 3, T2: B1 bus stop No. 18).
    * Bus stop locations: figures at the end of the section.
    * You can buy a ticket at a vending machine around the bus stop.
  2. Take KTX train to "Daejeon Station" (~24,000 KRW).
    * Online ticket purchase: Korail (PC / iOS / Android).
  3. Take a taxi and tell the driver you are heading to IBS (~10,000 KRW).
    * Taxi calling app: Kakao T (iOS / Android).
    * Even without the app, you will find a taxi at taxi station of Daejeon station.

Option C. AREX train to Seoul Station ⇒ KTX Train to Daejeon ⇒ IBS

  1. Take AREX train (subway) to "Seoul Station."
    * You can choose Non-stop (express) or All Stop.
    * Subway station location: figures at the end of the section.
    * Transit card: Tmoney (User's guide). You can buy and top up the card in stations or convenience stores.
  2. Take KTX train to "Daejeon Station" (~24,000 KRW).
    * Online ticket purchase: Korail (PC).
  3. Take a taxi and tell the driver you are heading to IBS (~10,000 KRW).
    * Taxi calling app: Kakao T (iOS / Android).
    * Even without the app, you will find a taxi at taxi station of Daejeon station.

English is available in all the following apps / websites.

Naver Map (iOS / Android) / Kakao Map (iOS / Android)
Google Maps sometimes does not include regional information in Korea, especially when searching for local routes or restaurants. The word "맛집" is useful when searchng local restaurants.

Kakao T (iOS / Android)
You can call a taxi using this app. Pre-specification of destination is available. Payment by cards issued in overseas is also available after registration.

Korail (PC / iOS / Android)
You can buy a ticket for KTX bullet train online. Offline perchase is also available at the stations, though tickets for weekends usually sell out quickly.

Tmoney card (User's guide)
A transit card for trains and buses. You can buy and top up the card in stations and convenience stores.

Inside IBS

Registration

  1. Please submit the required information and your ID (passport, driver's license, ID in your institute, etc.) at the reception desk in the Theory Building.
  2. You will receive a guest key in exchange for your ID.

Direction

CTPU occupies 4th floor of the Theory Building, half of which is used by CGA group and half by PTC group.

  1. The Theory Building is straight ahead from the main gate (the left figure).
  2. After entering the building, you will pass a gate, go straight, and take a elevator up to the 4th floor.
  3. Our group will be on your right while PTC group will be on your left (the right figure).




Around IBS

Stores / Restaurants

Sinsegae Department Store
 You can find restaurants in B1 floor and 5th floor.
Groceries and souvenirs can also be purchased in B1 floor.

Smart City
 Restaurants, bars, convenience stores, and a grocery store (GS Fresh) are available.

Hotels

We recommend Lotte City Hotel or Hotel ICC for your comfortable stay at IBS.
